World’s first 3D printed drug given approval in the United States

A pill to tackle epilepsy called Spritam has been approved for human use by the US Food and Drug Administration. The drug is made by a 3D printer, which creates the layers of the powdered drug. The benefits of this are that the pill dissolves faster in the human body and that doctors can deliver exactly the dose intended in the pill.
