Try this, Mary Poppins! Super-hydrophobic polycarbonate ping pong paddles and a water ball in space! #YearInSpacehttps://t.co/BB0Z35jbVa
— Scott Kelly (@StationCDRKelly) January 21, 2016
To celebrate his first year in space, Scott Kelly tweeted a video showing off his ping pong skills but with one small difference. He had made a table tennis-sized sphere from water. Kelly explains in the video how the hydrophobic paddles repel water, and this allows him to move the ball of water back and forth. His tweet appeared to generate much excitement and has been re-tweeted nearly 4,000 times.
