Tesla has made automotive history again by breaking the record for the world’s fastest accelerating production vehicle.
Tesla already held the world record. The standard Model S accelerated from 0 to 97 kph in 2.7 seconds last year. However, the company boosted online that its new Model S P100D smashed that record in 2.2755 seconds.

The company say that the upgraded P100D model used their new Ludicrous software update (which improves launch control) to reduce the time taken to reach 97kph.
