At the beginning of September we covered rumours that Social Media giant Snapchat might be planning on launching their own Google Glass-style headset, and over the weekend Snapchat has confirmed they will be launching that their ‘Spectacles’ will be “available soon”
The glasses come in three colours and (unsurprisingly) connect to the Snapchat app and save video recorded in a circular format to the user account of the wearer wirelessly. The glasses will sell for $129.99 in the US (around £100) and work by tapping a button on the glasses to capture 10 seconds or video (or if a second tap is made, 30 seconds).

As well as launching ‘Spectacles’, Snapchat announced it will be renaming the company ‘Snap’. The company is currently valued at £15 billion.
