New photos of Pluto show mountains of ice on surface

In a historic flyby of the dwarf planet, the New Horizons spacecraft has taken some extraordinary photos published yesterday. They gave scientists a more detailed insight into Pluto’s surface, which appears to be partly covered in huge mountains of ice. NASA also named a newly-discovered heart shaped area on Pluto after Clive Tombaugh, the astronomer who first discovered the dwarf planet.
