British designer promoted to chief design officer at Apple

Jony Ive, who was previously senior vice president of design at the technology company, has been promoted to his new role as chief design officer today. Ive, who was born in London and who was knighted in 2012 for services to the industry, will now be in charge of “current design projects, new ideas and future initiatives”, according to Apple chief executive Tim Cook.
