UNESCO’s General Conference proclaimed March 4th as World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development during its 40th session in November 2019. The day aims to raise awareness of the critical role that engineering plays in modern life, particularly in mitigating the impact of climate change and advancing sustainable development, especially in Africa and small island developing states (SIDS).
