The British Science Festival – Europe’s longest standing science Festival – travels across the UK each year to celebrate the people, stories and ideas at the heart of science.
Every year the Award Lectureships provide development opportunities for Early Career Researchers who are passionate about engaging the public with their research
The awardees receive a £250 honorarium, public engagement coaching, the chance to present their research at the Festival.
The call is now open and the deadline for applications is 5pm on 6 December 2021.
The idea behind the Award Lectures aim to promote open and informed discussion on issues involving science and actively encourage early-career scientists to explore the social aspects of their research.
The festival is seeking applicants who are active, early career researchers who are skilled at communicating their research to the wider public.
Awards are available in seven different areas and seek to highlight the interdisciplinarity of science, research and innovation:
- Social sciences
- Engineering, technology and industry
- Environmental sciences
- Agricultural, biological and medical sciences
- Physical sciences and mathematics
- Digital innovation
- Science and the arts
