The prestigious EEF Photography Competition is now open. The theme for this year’s competition is Celebrating Everyday Manufacturing.
This year the competition is in partnership with the GREAT Campaign. For 2018 the EEF are asking photographers to capture the bright future of British Manufacturing and champion the next generation of talent and technology in the sector.
Photographs can portray any stage of manufacturing – from design, process and technology in action through to the finished product – and feature individuals at work.
The EEF competition created to inspire a new image and improved public perception of UK manufacturing and engineering. Previous images have ranged from the traditional to the high-tech. This year the EEF is encouraging images that reflect the strength and diversity of today’s UK manufacturing sector.
Entries are being taken across four categories: Next Generation, Future Technology, Manufacturing Process and Manufacturing Product.
Each category has three ‘levels’ allowing Professional photographers, Amateur photographers and Young photographers (people under 20).
Entries will be shortlisted by a panel of photography and industry experts this September. Winners announced at an awards event in London in November.
Winning photographers will get their hands on a share of a £5000 prize fund and be in with the chance of having their photos on display in the national and local media.
Winners will grab a share of a £5000 prize fund as well as images being featured in a range of public venues from Government to EEF offices.
Entries will be open from 1st June to 30th September 2018. The competition is free to enter and open to young, amateur and professional photographers alike.
