14 Images to Celebrate the 50th birthday of the Range Rover

The 50th anniversary of the British Engineering icon – the Range Rover – is being marked by the opening of the “Range Rover Story” exhibition which traces the engineering story behind the Range Rover.

The exhibition shows the story behind the car built at Range Rovers Solihull plant in the West Midlands. Adult tickets to view the display at the Solihull plant cost £49. The exhibition is expected to be open for three years.

Range Rover has been manufactured at Solihull since 1970, but its history with the site goes back to 1967 when the first secret prototype was conceived, codenamed Velar. The new exhibit will take visitors on a time-travelling voyage from its inception in the mid 1960s, through to the introduction of the Range Rover Sport and Range Rover Evoque. The exhibition culminates in an exciting unveil of the new Range Rover Velar, celebrating British design and engineering integrity.
